Hot and juicy, special sauces, I miss fast food so much. Convenience is just not a part of my life anymore. Being prepared with options and variety keeps the stress down.
A turkey burger is one of those options. My ideal sandwich would have the following toppings and ingredients. I recently discovered a sauce at Whole Foods to use in place of mayo or ketchup. It takes my burger to that next level!
I use my biscuit recipe for a bun. No, it’s not like a “normal” bun but it works. Slice and broil on high for 2 minutes to warm and crisp it.
Then I grill or pan fry some turkey burgers. Since I cannot digest red meat, turkey burgers it is. I use seasoning salt and black pepper for seasoning.
I spread lemon herb tahini sauce on my biscuit. The name may throw you off, but it works so well on a burger. Its ingredients are simply sesame tahini, lemon juice, water, cilantro, garlic and salt. The hint of cilantro and garlic is what gets me. It tastes so good!
Add a few bacon slices.
I load up my sandwich with cucumbers and red onions and voila!
Now I am going to be honest. Once I pick up my sandwich, I hold it until I am done. There’s a lot happening. It stays intact better if I just hold it. Or sometimes I just embrace the glorious mess and let go. Either way it is satisfying and delicious!
