Whenever I have family over, hot Italian sandwiches is one of my go to meals. They are quick, easy and the family loves them.
Hot Italian Sandwiches
I came up with this recipe when I was first diagnosed with celiac disease. As my body healed, I found I could no longer digest. I continue to make for my family per their request. It eases my mind to not have gluten involved when preparing a meal.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
-
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
-
Lay out your bread on your cookie sheet. I can fit 12 slices.
-
Drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil onto each slice of bread. Spread oil with a butter knife.
Build your sandwich on 6 slices of the oiled bread.
-
3 slices of salami
-
2 slices of turkey
-
Onions
-
Tomatoes
-
Pepperoncini
-
Sprinkle everything with Italian seasoning.
-
Keep the tops off and bake for 13 minutes or until your bread is golden and crispy.
-
Top your sandwiches and eat hot from the oven.
-
Any extras can be stored once cooled wrapped in foil and into the fridge. Warm in the oven to bring back the crispiness.
