Lemon Pepper Baked Chicken Thighs

Lemon pepper is another favorite seasoning of mine.

Lemon Pepper Baked Chicken Thighs

Most lemon pepper seasoning from the store are full of additives and yellow dye. My stomach picks up on all of it and I just cannot eat.

Thankfully I found Penzey’s brand. They have a local store in Madison but they also have an online store. Their lemon pepper ingredients are simply – salt, bold black pepper, citric acid, lemon peel, garlic and minced green onions. I use on my chicken and random concoctions.

Instructions

  1. Start by getting your broiler pan ready. I line the bottom with foil for easy cleanup and spray the top with olive oil spray to prevent sticking.

  2. Rinse and trim your chicken thighs.

  3. Lay chicken skin side down first on top of your broiler pan.

  4. I do not have measurements. Lightly salt with Real salt first then garlic powder. Top it off with lemon pepper seasoningWet your fingertips with water and pat the seasoning into the chicken to help it stick. You may need to wet your fingertips a few times to get all of the chicken.

  5. Flip your chicken and repeat with the same seasoning, Real salt, garlic powder then lemon pepper.

  6. Wetting and patting the chicken not only allows the seasoning to stick but helps create a layer of crispy goodness, almost like it is fried.

  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.

  8. Flip and bake an additional 30-35 minutes.

  9. Simple yet tasty. I usually pair with asparagus, celery sticks or green beans for dinner.
