Lime Water

Breakfast was a struggle when I was first diagnosed with celiac disease. I was a cereal head. Loved it. Fruity Pebbles or Captain Crunch was my jam.

Lime Water

Now I don’t eat breakfast. My body feels better when I allow it to “wake up” slowly. Despite how careful I am with what I put in my body, my digestive system still feels slow and sluggish. I try to help by not stimulating it too quickly with lots of food to break down. My first meal is usually around 10 in the morning.

Instead, I start my day with lime water. It helps alleviate any pressure and gets things moving. I will also use throughout the day if my stomach gets bubbly. The average price of acid reflux medicine is $15. Spending $5-10 on limes makes sense to me.

Instructions

  1. I buy 6-10 limes, depending on their size, squeeze the juice into a mason jar and store in the fridge. Prepping saves time. I will pour about a tablespoon of juice into a large glass of water and chug. It tastes way better than lemon water to me! I find it very helpful.
